Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and his firebrand lieutenant James Orengo have suffered a huge blow after Amani National Congress (ANC)leader Musalia Mudavadi met a section of senators over the contentious Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Mudavadi trooped to Twitter to announce the unexpected news, a move that shall likely not be received well by Raila’s camp.
To rubberstamp Mudavadi’s announcement, Kericho senator Aaron Cheruiyot confirmed that senators drawn from team Kenya side at the senate were working with Mudavadi to ensure a consensus is reached over BBI.
Most senators in the team Kenya squad are drawn from both camps of Raila and deputy president William Ruto who by the events of Monday,26th October opposed the proposals in the document while at the Bomas of Kenya.
Siaya senator James Orengo has been at the forefront urging deputy president Ruto to announce his stand over the BBI and even resign from the government.
It is not clear yet whether Ruto is waiting for his lieutenants from Team Kenya side give him away forward after meeting Mudavadi who has warmed up to most proposals from the document.
