The law society of Kenya (LSK)has announced it shall lead Kenyans in occupying parliament buildings as from 12th October in a bid to push the president to dissolve it.

Speaking in Nairobi, Law Society of Kenya president Nelson Havi announced that all businesses transacted by the august house from 12th October onward shall be unconstitutional.

“We shall not do what our colleagues in Burkina Faso did by burning the parliament, we shall lead citizens in blocking the MPs to access parliament buildings” Said HAVI.

LSK issued a presser following chief Justice David Maraga’s advice to the president to dissolve parliament over the continued violation of the two-thirds gender representation rule.

Maraga said he is acting following six petitions filed in according to Article 261 (7) of the Constitution.

Whereas LSK is calling for the disbandment of Parliament, ODM leader Raila Odinga urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to consult widely before deciding on the contentious matter.
