A sarcastic reply to senator Kilonzo by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on the contentious matter has set tongues wagging.
“Natamani kunyamaza lakini si rahisi, Messiah nifundishe kunyamaza! ( I want to keep quiet but it is not that easy, messiah teach me how to keep shut-up” said Murkomen.
Currently, counties share revenue based on five parameters, namely population (45 percent), equal share (25 percent), poverty (20 percent), land area (eight percent), and fiscal responsibility (two percent). The proposed formula will see the weight of poverty in determining the revenue share drop to 18 percent.
