As if the problems bedeviling the Ford Kenya party are not enough, it has now emerged that goons purported to have been sponsored by a section of party rebels attacked the party headquarters in Nairobi last night with their mission remaining a puzzle. This has been revealed by embattled Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula.
Wetangula, who doubles up as the Bungoma Senator, trooped to Twitter to announced that the failed coup was orchestrated by people he knew.
“Last evening, goons armed with dangerous weapons, hired by Ford Kenya failed coup plotters, attacked National party headquarters and seriously injured our security guards.”
Wetangula announced that the matter has been reported to police officers and the suspects shall be dealt with accordingly.
“The party holds Gov Wangamati, Hon Eseli, Hon Wamunyinyi, and their accomplices squarely and criminally responsible for the attack on the party headquarters and the near loss of lives.”
The struggle for control of the Ford Kenya party took a new twist weeks ago after the Eseli Simiyu faction announced that Moses Wetangula was no longer the party leader.
This was however rubbished by Wetangula who claimed that the Tongaren Legislator (Simiyu) and Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati were being used by powerful forces to scuttle the party.
