In what appears to be a move aimed at improving his odds in securing a chance to become Kenya’s fifth president, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has hosted a powerful delegation at his Kabarak home.

leaders that paid a visit to Gideon were COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Agriculture CS Eugine Wamalwa among others.

Gideon Moi has been fronted by a section of politicians in the country to spearhead President Uhuru Kenyatta’s dream come 20222 general elections. COTU SG Atwoli has been one of the proponents of that thought.

Seemingly, Gideon Moi is capitalizing on the differences in western Kenya politics whose leaders are divided on who to support come 2022 general elections.

The Oparanya led faction is pulling towards ODM leader Raila Odinga, who seems to be in good terms with Moi, while the Mudavadi-Wetangula faction pushing to Ruto’s side.

KANU Secretary General Nick Salat revealed that the party is on a revival path to recapture its past glory.

“This time we are not supporting anyone. This time we have our own, we don’t want to remain afloat we want to go for leadership, we want to go for the main leaders of the country now.”

Be that as it may, pundits believe deputy president William Ruto’s influence in Kenya’s politics can never be assumed. Something that needs to worry the son of former Kenya’s president.
