The standard media group has embarked on a process of restructuring its newsroom amid a disruption brought by the shift from traditional to new media.
Sources have implied to 47 reporters that top editors among them Frank Otieno, Ellen Wanjiru, and Sub-editor Anthony Malesi are the latest casualties to be shown the door at the Mombasa road-based media house.
The wave has not ended with the three, Journalist Patrick Injendi (Formerly worked at Royal media)
Moses Njagi, John Rambo (Former and Protus Onyango have equally been axed.

In June 2020, the Nation media group fired close to 20 journalists. Brenda Wanga (news reporter), anchor Debarl Inea, Sharon Baranga (reporter), and Shaban Ulaya (sports reporter) are part of the big names that the Nation Media Group dropped.
Others on the list were Harith Salim (Swahili anchor), Lillian Kiarie (business reporter), Silas Apollo (news reporter), and celebrated talk show host Ken Mijungu.
