Citizen TV news anchor Hussein Mohamed will be exiting the station by end of October 2019.
The journalist, who started his career as a political reporter before rising through the ranks into becoming a household name in the media, made this announcement through Twitter.
He tweeted: ”It has been a wonderful 10 years at Citizen TV. I have enjoyed & relished every moment I shared with my colleagues at RMS. I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics & everything in between. See you soon.”
Before his News Night show was rebranded into what it is today, Mr Mohamed used to host the Big Question.
When gone, the eloquent journalist will be remembered for his hard hitting questions during interviews with the who-is-whos in the governance sphere. Many commentators often described his show as objective, bold and impactful.
Those he has interviewed include President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto, former premier Raila Odinga among many others.
Now, speculations are rife as to where his new home will be. Sources however hint that he could be heading to Al Jazeera.
We as The 47 reporters wish him well!
