TV47 has suffered another blow after one of its news presenters, Clifford Ndubi, joined rival Switch TV.
The move is likely to cause jitters at the Mount Kenya Univesity owned media house which has seemingly struggled to stay afloat in the wake of adverse effects of Covid-19 on businesses.
Undeniably, Ndubi is joining Switch as a Swahili sports anchor with prospects of stepping in during the prime time news.
At TV 47, the budding Clifford hosted the sports program dubbed Matukio Nyanjani, making it one of the most admired shows by sports fanatics.
Switch TV was forced to reorganize after its key presenters were poached by K24 after the latter laid off close to half of its staff weeks ago.
Ndubi is coming in to reinforce the new team at the Red Cross owned television station which, according to sources, slashed by half salaries of its staff earlier this year to sustain its huge wage bill.
He is joining the likes of Fredrick Muitiriri (laid off from Inooro Tv) and Nancy Onyancha (From K24) who were unveiled in mid-July.
Clifford boasts of vast experience in the sports docket after some of his stories were nominated for awards. Two of his sports features received international recognition.
The two stories, Scramming On The Rocks and Boxing On The Wheels were ranked amongst Africa’s top ten.
