The number of Covid 19 cases in the country has risen to 216 after eight more people tested positive in the last 24 hours.  This is after 694 samples were tested

Similarly, one person has fully recovered from the disease bringing the total number or recovered cases to 41 in the country.

Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi on Tuesday announced that most of the infections are spread through the community unlike previous cases where most cases were reported from those who came in the country from affected countries.

‘’Prepare for the worst. The virus is moving to the counties’’ Said Dr. Mercy Mwangangi amidst concerns that rural infections are on the rise.

The Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi announced the deployment of 12,000 testing kits for mass testing of COVID19 in Nairobi, Mandera, Mombasa and Siaya.

Dr Mwangangi has also noted an increase in gender based violence cases as many families spend more time at home due to the curfew effected by the government.
