It has now emerged that 21 counties are not fully prepared to handle the medical menace that comes with the Covid19 pandemic.
The counties are spread out in the whole country raising eyebrows on the preparedness of county bosses to handle the surge in covid19 cases when the country will be at its peak.
The Counties are Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Bomet, Busia,Embu, isiolo, Kajiado,Siaya , Taita Taveta,Tana River, Turkana, Wajir, Kitui,Lamu, Marsabit, Migori,Meru, Nyamira,Kisumu and Samburu.
Ironically, Nairobi County, which ideally is supposed to be fully prepared seems to be far from better.
According to the 2019 census report, Nairobi County is the most populous region, with a population of 4, 3 million residents, or 1, 4 million households.
With such a population, one would beg to ask why the Nairobi Metropolitan services (NMS) in conjunction with embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has not adhered to the set standards.
